ADAMA receives EU approval for new molluscicide Feralla?

ADAMA 2025-04-11

ADAMA?announced on April 2?that its novel in-licensed active ingredient, Feralla?, has been approved in the European Union?(EU). At its March 2025 meeting, the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (SCoPAFF) approved Feralla??as a low-risk active substance. This approval marks a key milestone toward the launch of Feralla?-based products in the EU. The first product based on Feralla??will be launched in the UK in the second half of the year, with expansion to other European markets to follow.

Molluscicide products containing Feralla??will deliver significant advantages for farmers, offering a faster stop-feeding effect and superior pellet durability compared to ferric phosphate alternatives. Field trials show that Feralla??reduces crop damage by up to 90?percent?within three days of application.

Powered by ADAMA's proprietary Desidro??technology, Feralla??enhances bait attractiveness?and pest palatability while using a lower concentration of active ingredient, helping farmers achieve their sustainability goals. This unique technology employs a multi-stage drying process under carefully controlled humidity conditions, giving the final product exceptional resistance to mould. It also boosts weather resistance, ensuring longer-lasting effectiveness in the field.

As European farmers navigate the challenge of balancing effective pest control with strict regulatory demands, the approval of Feralla??brings ADAMA a step closer to delivering high-performance mollusc control solutions that support green and sustainable farming while meeting regulatory standards and consumer expectations.
